WebMar 30, 2012 · My first inclination was to upll the C7AE heads and use the C7JE heads because of the bigger ports, but after a pretty exhaustive discussion with a lot of pretty informed Ford racing guys, they said both heads had design merits and not really to worry about it in our rpm range.

The C7AE-A was used on all Ford FE motors such as the 352, 390, 410, 427, and 428 (even the Shelby GT-500 and police interceptor motors).
WebRemove the spark plug and insert a wooden dowel into the cylinder until you hit the top of the piston and make a mark on the dowel. (Use the valve cover lip as a constant reference source.) WebJun 6, 2004 · The easiest way to identify the CJ heads (other than the casting number) is look at the exhaust ports.They have 4 bolts per port (16 holes per head).The 390 GT heads are close but only have 14 bolt holes as two ports only have 3 holes not 4.
